Sports Institute
Santo Tomás joined the Chilean Olympic Committee in its search for real pros related to competitive sports at the highest level.
At the new Olympic Training National Center, Universidad Santo Tomás teaches its Physical Education Pedagogy curriculum, and since March 2009 is teaching its careers of Sports and Physical Activity Sciences.
This last career is aimed at training professionals for today’s highly competitive world of sports.
In the graduate sphere, and using a structure of individual courses and training syllabi, issues to be addressed include sports specialization, teaching sports, healthy lifestyle, selection of athletes with elite potential and sports management.
Students become familiar with highly competitive sports from the start and gain access to first-rate infrastructure and equipment for optimal training in the technical and technological aspects of modern sports.
An agreement with Beijing Sport University has to be highlighted because of the importance of the exchange between both institutions and its benefits for students and faculties.
